Board Nomination, Proposal Amendments and Bid for Hosting
As we continue preparations for the 10th ILGA Asia Conference, scheduled from 24 to 28 February 2025 in Kathmandu, Nepal, we are pleased to share important updates regarding board nominations and amendments to the ILGA Asia Constitution. This conference promises to be a meaningful gathering to advance LGBTIQ rights across Asia, and your participation is crucial to our shared progress.
In accordance with the ILGA Asia Constitution and Standing Orders, we open a call for proposal amendments, board nominations and proposals to bid for the conference. Members are encouraged to review the Constitution and propose changes that further our mission and values.
Board Nominations
The ILGA Asia Executive Board is the primary decision-making body acting on behalf of ILGA Asia between conferences, ensuring alignment with its Constitution, Standing Orders, and policies. Comprising diverse representatives—including Co-Secretaries General, Regional Representatives, Steering Committee Chairs, and sub-regional representatives—the Board plays a pivotal role in driving strategic initiatives, governance, and stakeholder engagement to further ILGA Asia’s mission.
We invite full member organizations to nominate candidates for one or both of the following board positions:
Regional Representatives: Each of the four sub-regions (West, South, Southeast, and East Asia) will elect two representatives. At least one of the representatives must identify as a woman, and one as a person with a disability. Candidates running for regional representative positions may simultaneously run for specific constituency roles if their identities align with those categories.
Specific Constituency Representatives: Candidates from below to ensure representation for the following constituencies:
Bisexual
Intersex
Disabled/Person with Disabilities
Non-Binary
Trans
Women
Youth (defined as individuals under the age of 32)
